God Has Numbered Our Days

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 KJV

It should be obvious to us all. However, we rarely think about, rarely consider the fact our days are numbered. We just assume we always have tomorrow and therefore we take for granted today.

The scriptures tell us God has numbered our days, our times are appointed. At some point, we are all going to die. One day we will all stand before Christ and give an account of our lives. There is no amount of money, fame or power that can save us from this fact.

Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?” Job 7:1 KJV

We spend so much of our lives worrying about tomorrow and thinking about the next day and the next task. Don’t we realize, tomorrow is promised to no one? Doesn’t today has enough trouble of its own? We should be grateful for today and the people in our lives. The people in front of us right now. Who knows if we will have the opportunity to show them love or the light of Christ when tomorrow comes.

It seems it’s only after a great loss. Usually, a great loss near and dear to us before we take the time to acknowledge how frail we truly are. How precious life is, how precious people are. Our life on this earth is short. How are you spending it?

“LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.Psalm 39:4 KJV

May God give us a mind to understand how swift life is. May He give us an attitude that appreciates every moment given to us. May He give us a heart to love and cherish those around us. May we be the salt and light of Christ every day. Let us enjoy this day and not give our minds over to tomorrow.

“O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!” Deuteronomy 32:29 KJV
