Where Is The Wise? The Cross is Foolishness To Those Who Are Perishing

We live among a society here in America and the rest of the western world, where people have put their faith and trust in their own wisdom. They boast in their own intellect, thinking themselves brilliant because they have degrees and decoration from a university. A university that has taught them there is no God, there is no absolute truth, and they evolved over millions of years from a monkey or from a wet rock. Intellect, man’s brilliance, and science is the new God of this era.

As for us who serve God, who don’t put their faith in science or man’s wisdom, but instead rest in God’s wisdom and the grace given to us through his Son Jesus Christ, we are seen as fools. However, the Bible tells us God is using the things of this world to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:26). The cross seems like foolishness to those who are perishing, that is dying in their sins, and are hell bound.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

The world we live in is, and always will be, upside down. This is until the Lord Jesus comes back to set up His kingdom. True wisdom will always seem like foolishness, right will always seem wrong and wrong will always seem right in the eyes of the world. As for me, I believe that men are born men, women are born women, and all of humanity was created by an all-knowing and all-powerful God who has redeemed us through the shed blood of His Son Jesus.

The idea that the world came from nothing, that we evolved from monkeys, that men can be women and women can be men, now that’s foolishness. Yet today, it’s celebrated as great wisdom. However, I feel sorry for those who are so lost, who are not grounded in the truth, who think the cross is foolishness, because sadly, the scriptures tell us they are perishing, that is unless they come to faith in Christ.

“Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Corinthians 1:20″
