Christians, stop walking in darkness, be transformed by the renewing of your mind – Devotional 02/19/2017

One of my biggest concerns when looking at the church today, is the church and the world look basically the same. The Christian and the heathen are doing the same things. I wonder how many Christians have went out over the last week to see the sequel to the movie 50 Shades of Grey? Which is nothing more then pornography for woman. How many Christians on a weekly basis are watching series on Netflix filled with graphic sexual content and ungodly filth?

This generation of Christians have completely lost what it means to be set apart, to be holy. As a believer, you are called to a higher standard, after all, you are the temple of God, if you truly have believed on the name of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:19). We are to present our bodies and our lives as a living sacrifice to God and not be conformed to the wickedness of this world. We are in great need, desperate need, of a revival in this country and around the world. It’s time to get back to the basics and get back to the truth of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Maybe start today by examining your own life and examining your own faith and see whether you truly be in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5).

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2

  1. Amen that is so true mate,I’m trying hard watching what I do,reading and attempting to obey.It isn’t all that hard but sometimes I am selfish & probably one of the worst sins.I found a really old book called “Quiet talks about the Tempter” has been interesting read about noticing how Temptations weaker the more I fight and try to be aware of the actual Battle.Reading my Bible daily (thanks to you Shawn) has greatly strengthened me.Well, atleast now I can fight back 🙂

  2. I listen to you several times weekly. You have a very pleasing voice and I sometimes listen to you for hours. Your clarifications of scripture and your explanations are spiritually and intellectually enlightening. Your podcast are such a blessing. Thank you so much for the sacrifice of your time and talent. May Gods blessings be abundant toward you and your family and guide and protect you and those you love in the name above all names our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
