Are you trusting in God or trusting in men?

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.” Psalms 118:1 KJV

Right now there appears to be two reactions in regards to President Donald Trump taking office. I see many who are very excited, they have hope that he will create change and that their lives will be better because of it. There is another group, who seem to be devastated. They tend to believe all their hopes and dreams for a great future are now lost, which leaves anger and disappointment in their hearts and minds.

I don’t know what the future holds, other then that which the Scripture declare must come to pass. However, I do know this. Our hopes and dreams can not be placed on the shoulders of a man, not even a president. I don’t know what life under a Donald Trump presidency will bring. I do know that if your trust is in Trump, you will be disappointed, because he is still just a man. I man in need of a Saviour just like the rest of us.

Your hopes, your dreams, your future, your faith need to be placed in only one person. The person of Jesus Christ, and Christ alone. Trust in the Lord and do not put your confidence in men or princes. People will disappoint you and let you down, but the Lord is faithful, merciful and true. You can trust him, and one day, I suspect very soon, the government will be upon His shoulders. A day we can all long for and hope for.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 KJV
